Debris, Junk & Waste Removal / Recycling

When I first got the idea to start this business, I really had no idea what to expect. I knew my job was going away, and that I needed to do something. I had to find something that I could enjoy doing. I've always been big into recycling and doing my best to find ways to reuse things. So I began researching the junk removal business back in the beginning of 2010. I was amazed to find out how big of a business junk removal actually is.

Everyone has junk. Although, what they may consider junk isn't always junk to the next person. There is so much that is disposed of on a daily basis that can be recycled or donated. There are plenty of people out there that have very little or nothing at all. More often than not, the average person doesn't realize this. They see a garage full of useless items that are just taking up space where their car could be. Or they may have an old shed or storage building that is full of things they haven't used in years, that is just garbage to them. That old bicycle, might just make someones day. Or those pots and pans could find a good use at a shelter somewhere.

Since I did my 1st job, early July of 2010, you would truly be amazed at the things I'm contracted to remove. When I go somewhere I rarely know what to expect.  But that's part of what I enjoy the most about my business. That and the people. I have met some of the most interesting people, from all walks of life, who all have a story. Whether I am cleaning out a garage, an old shed, a foreclosure, a rental or storage unit, removing remodeling debris, etc......The 1st thing I look for is recyclable and donatable items. Like I said, more times than not, people just don't realize what they are disposing of. Everything that is recyclable is taken to local county recycling centers. The majority of what I donate is taken to the Union County Community Shelter. Derrick and his staff do a wonderful job for the local community. They always do their best to help people get back on their feet.  You should check out their web page www.unionshelter.org  I also donate to Goodwill, Habitat for Humanity and The Salvation Army just to name a few.  Unfortunately, everything doesn't always fall into these categories and as a last resort some items do have to go to the landfill. But The Junk Dr always does his best to find a new home for as many items as he can.

So remember, what is junk, trash or garbage to you. May indeed make someones day. For more details feel free to give The Junk Dr a call at 704-574-1485. I am always on call and Here To Cure What Ails You......Thanks and Have a Wonderful Day!!!!

Recycling Facts

  • A single quart of motor oil, if disposed of improperly, can contaminate up to 2,000,000 gallons of fresh water.
  • The U.S. is the #1 trash-producing country in the world at 1,609 pounds per person per year. This means that 5% of the world's people generate 40% of the world's waste.
  • A modern glass bottle would take 4000 years or more to decompose -- and even longer if it's in the landfill.
  • Recycling plastic saves twice as much energy as burning it in an incinerator.
